BRENTWOOD, Tenn., October 22, 2018 – There is a new top player in the World Golf Ranking and he is a long-time wearer of cleated footwear. With a four-stroke victory in The CJ Cup at Nine Bridges, the reigning back-to-back U.S. Open Champion ascended to the top ranking.
His victory was part of another big weekend for golfers wearing replaceable cleat technology.
“Across the world, the top golfers relied on cleated footwear as a key component of their victories,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “From South Korea to Spain to China and the U.S., we covered the world with wins this past weekend.”
At The CJ Cup, 27 of the top 29 finishers chose replaceable cleat technology over spikeless/tennis shows. Additionally, winners of the Dominion Energy Charity Classic on the PGA Tour Champions, the Buick LPGA Shanghai and the European Tour’s Andalucia Valderrama Masters all chose to wear footwear with cleats for maximum traction and stability.
